Shockproof tablet protective covers and cases

Even the most careful user occasionally drops their tablet. Sometimes it works out fine, but in most cases, the tablet gets slightly damaged with every fall or bump.

Shockproof tablet covers and cases offer protection against impacts, bumps, and drops. Depending on the budget and requirements, there are various options to extend the lifespan of your tablet.

Robust-looking solutions generally offer the best protection. These cases are extremely popular in construction and other sectors where the risk of fall and impact damage is relatively high. While this appearance may not be ideal in every setting, this form of tablet protection offers the most damage reduction.

As an alternative to bulky protective cases, various tablet protective covers are available with a more subtle appearance and finish. For example, professionals in an office environment are more likely to choose products with a high-quality appearance.

Waterproof tablet protective covers and cases

Especially in professions where the employee concerned is often on the go, tablets are regularly used outdoors. For example, by real estate agents during a viewing or by construction professionals during the planning and control of activities.

Waterproof tablet protective covers and cases ensure a carefree user experience in any environment. Both outdoors in the rain and in damp indoor spaces.

How waterproof is my tablet protection really?

IP-X3 is splash-proof, meaning no water should leak through if the protective cover is sprayed with 10 liters per minute at an angle of 60 to minus 60 degrees. IP-X3 works well but is the lowest standard in waterproofing.

IP-X4 is splash-proof, which means the same amount of water as IP-X3, but no water should leak through regardless of the angle from which the cover is sprayed.

IP-X5 goes a step further and adds 2.5 liters of water per minute, resulting in a spray of 12.5 liters per minute. This specification is known as jet-proof. Regardless of the angle, no trace of water should leak through.

IP-X3 is the highest specification for spraying. Protection of this standard must withstand 100 liters of water per minute without penetrating the cover. This specification does not quite meet true watertightness when submerged. For that, at least the IP-X7 and ideally the IP-X8 standard is required.

IP-X7 is the first level at which the tablet can be submerged underwater without causing immediate damage. The condition for this is that the tablet is submerged a maximum of 1 meter underwater for a maximum of 30 minutes.

IP-X8 is truly 100% waterproof. Regardless of the duration of submersion or the depth, the protective cover continues to function. How deep underwater the tablet can actually be used depends on the specifications provided by the tablet manufacturer.

Using a tablet in construction

From falls, bumps, and exposure to water and dust, in construction, every device is put to the test to the extreme, even with normal use. Using a tablet or even a phone without any protection, such as a case or cover, is unthinkable, as the device would then have to be replaced within a week.

By making a one-time investment in a fall-proof, shock-proof, dust-proof, and waterproof tablet cover, you save yourself multiple purchases of new tablets. For illustration, the cheapest model of a new iPad currently costs around €390, compared to an all-weather protective cover for €189.
