Samsung Galaxy tablet waterproof? Not all tablets are equally suitable for a rain shower by default. Therefore, protect your tablet with one of our many waterproof tablet protective covers and cases. Whether you need a splash-proof tablet or want to use a 100% waterproof and submersible IP-X8 certified tablet case, we are happy to help.

Making your Samsung tablet waterproof with protective covers and cases

Unfortunately, Samsung Galaxy tablets do not offer good protection against falling into water or a heavy rain shower out of the factory. A waterproof tablet case can significantly extend the lifespan of your valuable tablet. To make the right choice, it is important to determine what level of waterproofing you will need in practice.

To measure water resistance, the IP-X standard was created. Check the specifications of each gradation below to find out what level of protection you need. Generally, the more water protection, the higher the price.

IP-X3 is splash-proof. This means that no water should leak through the case if it is exposed to 10 liters of water per minute at an angle of minus 60 to plus 60 degrees. IP-X3 provides basic protection against water on your tablet.

IP-X4 is splash-proof. The amount of water that can get on the tablet according to this standard is the same as IP-X3, namely 10 liters per minute. The difference is that with IP-X4, it does not matter what angle the water hits the tablet.

IP-X5 is jet-proof. Per minute, this protection can withstand up to 12.5 liters of water regardless of the angle from which the water hits the tablet. Compared to the slightly lower standard IP-X4, IP-X5 offers slightly more protection.

IP-X6 is the highest achievable specification regarding spraying. It does not yet concern actual submersion as with IP-X7 and IP-X8. Per minute, the IP-X3 standard must be able to withstand at least 100 liters of water per minute without leakage.

IP-X7 is 100% waterproof at an entry-level. Accessories with the IP-X7 standard offer water resistance up to a maximum of 1 meter deep underwater. There is also the limitation that this water resistance is a maximum of 30 minutes. For the highest level of water resistance, the next standard, IP-X8, is the solution.

IP-X8 is 100% waterproof without further limitations such as the number of liters per minute or the depth. IP-X8 is simply as waterproof as one can expect from a tablet case. Although accessories with the IP-X8 standard are 100% waterproof, some electronic devices simply cannot stay underwater for too long without damage. So even without water getting to the tablet, it can happen that it gets damaged if it stays underwater for too long. Check the specifications of your device with the manufacturer beforehand before using the tablet underwater.

Shock- and drop-resistant covers for Samsung Galaxy tablets

In addition to waterproof tablet covers, we also have an extensive range of drop-, shock-, and dust-resistant tablet cases. Entry-level models generally only offer protection against minor drop and shock damage, while some high-end models also offer fully dust-proof protection.
